"We People"
In late 2022, Overture Center in Madison, WI, accepted my proposal for a mosaic on the theme of “Democracy.” I chose to highlight gerrymandering as a threat to our democracy. The exhibit hung in Spring 2023. Later this piece was included in the “Class Act 2024” show at The Gallery of Contemporary Mosaics, Chicago, Illinois. It now has a permanent home in the offices of Madison law firm Law Forward.
Democracy is fragile, aspirational and imperfect. Democracy is dependent upon shared values including integrity, fair play, and decency. Democracy can be manipulated and abused to enhance the power of the few over the many. We People must protect this delicate treasure.
