Progressions is an exhibition honoring Paris-based Maestro Verdiano Marzi and the influence his work and teachings have had on his students and practitioners. Marzi is a compelling authority in the development of contemporary mosaics internationally and uniquely at The Chicago Mosaic School for over a decade. His sensitive and reflective approach to mosaic art elevates perceptions of the possibilities of the medium through color, texture, and light. The exhibition juxtaposes Marzis’ works with those of his longtime students of the Chicago Mosaic School. I am honored to be one of those students whose work is included.

In 2023, I joined with 4 other artists to propose a collaborative art installation at Overture Center in Madison, WI. We include a poet, a watercolorist, an encaustic artist, a fabric/mixed media artist, and I am a mosaic artist.  
Our collaboration explores how our lives and relationships are like threads - knotted and tangled, weaving and divergent - telling a larger story of how we enrich each other’s lives. Throughout our two-year journey we intentionally seek to listen to each other’s lives as we inspire collaborative creativity. Our featured work will be a large collaborative piece made up of 78 squares on one wall to create one image in four visual media with embedded poetry.
